Sales Associate – Asian Market

We’re looking for a driven and experienced Sales Associate to help grow our Asian customer base across all categories and services.

This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen existing relationships while identifying new business opportunities within the New Zealand ethnic wholesale market. You’ll play a key role in positioning Service Foods as the most trusted and well-connected provider in the industry. 

Located in the Waikato, this role is dedicated to expanding and strengthening our Asian customer base throughout the region

In this role, you’ll cultivate strong, profitable relationships with our Asian clients — understanding their unique needs, delivering tailored solutions, and championing their success. Your contribution will directly support revenue growth and long‑term customer partnerships.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Driving a dynamic mix of business development and account management
  • Prospecting for new business across the Waikato region, using your network to connect with a wide range of ethnic clients
  • Managing and growing a portfolio of warm accounts with a structured call cycle
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure accurate product forecasting and alignment with customer and supplier requirements

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

  • Proven ability to build rapport and develop long‑lasting customer relationships
  • Confident communicator, fluent in English and Cantonese and/or Mandarin
  • Relevant trade or hospitality industry experience
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a solutions‑focused mindset
  • Demonstrated experience in lead generation and business development, supported by a strong network
  • Solid analytical skills and product knowledge
  • Ability to manage budgets, returns, and promotional spend in line with sales targets
  • A collaborative approach, working effectively with Procurement and Warehouse Operations
