Service Foods Tauranga is looking for a motivated Inwards Store Person – Driver to join our expanding team.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute across multiple aspects of our operations while being part of a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Role Highlights:

  • Immediate Start
  • Full-time Permanent Position
  • Monday to Friday (early starts, between 5:00 am – 6:00 am)
  • Occasional Saturday Delivery Runs
  • Location: Porutu Place, Tauriko, Tauranga

Your Role:

As an all-rounder, you'll support the operations team in various tasks. The ideal candidate will have a solid warehouse background, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn our in-house software, SAGE. Current Forklift licence is essential. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery Operations:
    • Safely operate delivery vehicles (vans and trucks), deliver goods as per schedule
    • Load and unload products securely, ensuring safe transportation and timely deliveries according to customer orders.
    • Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and clear communication with customers, providing excellent service.
    • Knowledge of Tauranga and surrounding areas is a plus.
  • Receiving Deliveries:
    • Accurately receive, inspect, and record all incoming goods.
    • Unload and assess product quality, ensuring it meets our standards.
    • Barcoding, pricing, and recording of all inwards goods.
    • Handle discrepancies, damages, and stock variances efficiently.
    • Ensure proper labelling and categorization of all items.
  • Operational Support:
    • Expedite truck loading to ensure timely delivery.
    • Safely deliver goods to clients across the Tauranga region.
    • Process invoices and dispatch trucks during office hours.
    • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock rotation within the warehouse, following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
    • Perform heavy lifting and maintain warehouse order.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to health and safety policies and food safety standards.
    • Conduct stock rotations and manage expiry dates to ensure product freshness.

The Ideal Candidate:

While prior experience in a similar role or the food/warehousing industry is an advantage, it is not essential. We value reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.

Key qualifications and skills include:

  • Forklift license required
  • Physical fitness for heavy lifting and working in temperature-controlled environments
  • Class 2 Driver’s License (manual transmission) ideal.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Reliable attendance and transportation
  • Flexibility to work shifts and overtime
  • Strong computer literacy and the ability to adapt to new systems
  • Previous experience in warehouse or pick-packing work (desirable)
  • Prior knowledge of basic food ingredients and NZ work experience is a plus
  • A positive, honest, and reliable team player with excellent communication skills
  • Clean driving and criminal records are essential for this role
